Granny Smith's Tea Time

Oil on Canvas Board
18 x 24

Now that I have a paying job, it's hard to find the time to paint. But I did this one and I love it!
To me it's all about the color.  And I love the set up so much that I am going to paint it again and try for a softer, less hard edged look.  So stay tuned...

Sheep's Meadow

Oil on Canvas Board
20 X 16

I finally got back to painting after a long break.  I'm perhaps a bit rusty but I like the way this one turned out.  I wanted to capture the feel of a high meadow and I think I did. What do you think?

Chi X Four

This is my last class assignment.  Four versions of the same photograph.
I'm glad the class is over because it was so much work. But I'm sad the class is over because I had so much fun.

The Chickens

Here is my latest class project.  Recreate a movie poster. This was really fun.  That's me being swooped by the chickens and my sister-in-law "Jenny Jenny Big Fat Henny". That's what they called her in high school when that picture was taken.  She wasn't fat at all.  And of course Colonel Sanders!

And here is the third assignment.  Choose a word, replace one of the letters with an image, have a second line of related text and decorate appropriately.

Egg Head

Here is the second assignment from my Photoshop class. Make a visual pun.
I'm not really an egghead, but it was fun to pretend.

Chick Chic

I have been taking a Photoshop class at ACC and having a ton of fun. Not to mention that I have learned a great deal about how to use the tool.  Here is the first project assigned: create a character using the images supplied. The supplied images were some flowers and old kitchen utensils.

Pilar's Window
Oil on canvas board
24 x 18

This is another of Lee Brown's painting challenges. It's from back in September of 2011.  Do you think it's too late to submit?

I love the cool light in the window played against the warm light inside the cafe and the white apron of "la serveuse".

Last Bit of Sun
18 x 24
Oil on canvas board

This is a painting of a photograph by Lee Brown called "Dingle Boats" as seen on his "A Day Not Wasted" website,  He takes beautiful photographs and has a fun monthly painting challenge.  This isn't one of the challenges and he has agreed to license me the reference material for this painting.
